Ministries of Proclamation

LeonardSweet.com
Leonard Sweet has been called "One of the church's most important and provocative thinkers." As a historian, futurist, preacher, and E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism at Drew University, Sweet communicates well in both the academic setting as well as to popular culture.

Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
BGEA exists to support the evangelistic ministry and calling of Billy Graham to take the message of Christ to all the world. The most prominent public evangelist of our time, Billy Graham still does a few public crusades in his latter years but is gradually turning over the ministry to his son Franklin and others. Site includes news, information, and inspiration.

Ministries of Outreach

Christian Community Development Association
CCDA is an association of Christian organizations whose goal is to give a hand, not a hand-out. A holistic vision of evangelism and social action that stresses relocation, reconciliation, and redistribution propels CCDA member organizations toward church-based ministries working toward empowering the poor and building up leadership at the grass-roots level. The site contains a bookstore with key books by Wayne Gordon, John Perkins, and others.

Ministries of Compassion

Habitat for Humanity International
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian housing organization organized at the local level into more than 1,900 affiliates, which is dedicated to building simple, decent, affordable, houses in partnership with those in need of adequate shelter.

World Vision International
World Vision International is a Christian relief and development organization working for the well being of all people, especially children. Through emergency relief, education, health care, economic development, and promotion of justice, World Vision helps communities help themselves. Supported by a wide range of mostly Protestant churches, WVI has branches in many countries, including the United States and Canada. Most operational decisions are made at the national or local level.

A wealth of material supporting peace and justice ministry in Mennonite churches and beyond. Includes worship resources, a calendar, thoughtful writings on current events, and more. Related to MennoLink's discussion group on peace.

Sojourners
Many Mennonites have greatly appreciated this Washington, D.C.-based community and publisher of Sojourners magazine which has proclaimed a radical vision for peace and justice in the Evangelical tradition since the 1960's.

Christian Peacemaker Teams
Mennonites were among the founders of CPT, which offers an organized, nonviolent alternative to war and other situations where lethal conflict is present. CPT seeks to enlist the response of the whole church in conscientious objection to war, and the development of nonviolent institutions, skills and training for intervention in conflict situations.
